Welcome to Bible Baptist Church

bbc_churchAt Bible Baptist Church, being fundamental and Bible-believing is not just an idea, it is our practice. We have a strong Bible-based teaching ministry and believe in saturating everything we do in the Word of God.

Believing that Christians are to witness of the saving power of Jesus Christ, Bible Baptist Church practices weekly soul-winning and visitation. Our Sunday School, Bus Ministry, Nursing Home, Retirement Home and Prison Ministries are centered on declaring the Gospel message. Our bus and van volunteers provide transportation to the church, encourage and give Godly examples to some children.

Meditation for the Week

Fall is a time of change. As we look outside, we can see the leaves begin to change color. The beautiful foliage reminds us of the changing of the seasons. The cooler temperatures of fall are beginning also. The time for putting on jackets and starting furnaces has come.

We are accustomed to the changes of seasons and most of us enjoy the variety. However, it is comforting to understand that God does not change. His immutability is declared in the Scriptures (Psalm 102:25-27; Malachi 3:6; James 1:17). We appreciate the truth that our Creator and Savior will not turn back on His promises (2 Corinthians 1:20).

We are thankful that God’s Word is steadfast (Psalm 199:89; Matthew 24:35). We rejoice in the fact that the love of God is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3). God will never forsake us because He is unchanging (Hebrews 13:5, 8).

It is such a blessing to cling to these truths while we live in a world of uncertainty. The Lord spoke these words in Isaiah 46:9, 11: “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,… yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

Some have said that God does change. They mention that God said He was going to destroy Ninevah in the book of Jonah and later spared it. It is important to note that God did not change – the people of Ninevah did. God always hates sin. God always forgives those who truly repent. The people of Ninevah repented, so God spared them.

Beloved, may we who have received Jesus Christ as our Savior delight in the understanding of His consistency!

Meditation for the Week

In Psalm 33:8, the Bible tells us to fear the LORD and to stand in awe of Him. Awe is defined as an overwhelming feeling of reverence, fear or wonder. When we think of how mighty our Lord is, it definitely inspires us.

On these beautiful fall days, we can easily stand in awe of God’s creation. The proclamation of Psalm 19:1, that the heavens declare the glory of God, is manifested in the changing seasons. The beauty of creation is God’s handiwork. Our God is a powerful Creator and a tremendous Artist!

We can stand in awe of God’s comfort in these days of turmoil. Our economy is a rollercoaster, and the world is filled with conflict. But through it all, God gives peace and grace. He reminds us that we can find that His grace is always sufficient (Hebrews 4:16). As David said in Psalm 56:3, when we are afraid we can trust in Him. His peace passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7).

Finally, as we stand in awe of the LORD, we must remember His cross. No other manifestation of God’s love is so vivid. Paul reminded the Galatians that the cross of Jesus Christ gives the believer cause to glory. Every time we think of Calvary, may we again stand in awe of Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Beloved, through this week, I trust that each of us will fear the LORD and stand in awe of Him.
